Help me to help others

"I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something" ~ Helen Keller

There is an enduring thought left in my mind from my times in South East Asia. That there are those who have less than nothing and that through their disenfranchisement are denied even a basic start in life. I promised myself I would try to help in some small way, that they not be forgotten and left to the winds of chance that sometimes blow bitterly through many parts of the world.

To that end I have established a fund which I hope will provide the possibility of helping to give some of the children at most risk at least a basic start in life. At its simplest this may be the provision of foodstuffs (Rice etc;) or clothing, mosquito nets, blankets, healthcare and the like. Perhaps with your help I may be able to do much more than that.

The dream is this. To eventually establish one or more centres, where children with limited or no access to opportunity are given a nurturing and safe environment to learn, to grow and to become prosperous – whatever that equates to in their own personal lives. Hopefully those centres will become establishments that help develop ethical and sustainable businesses in the region outside of the centre which may provide future employment for the 'graduates'. Yes I's a big dream isn't it!

I know I am asking a lot. Things are hard for many people at the moment, and that bitter wind I mentioned above is blowing through a lot of people's lives right now. But whether it is that Friday morning Latte or the Wednesday night Curry, I guess I am asking that we all do with a little less of something for a short moment in time so that others who have nothing can have something. It really is quite amazing to see the difference very small amounts of money, that we don't give a second thought to, can make.

So, that's it. If you would like to help in making this dream a reality, please click on the donate button below. I intend to post video and picture updates as and when I manage to accomplish certain milestones in this project. It promises to be a long, hard but rewarding road so check back often for progress.

If you are a large company and would like to help, well that's great! You can contact me through this website and tell me all about it!
